PVC granulates are further processed by a great variety of different methods, such as:
Blow-molding
- Bottles for cosmetics and foodstuff
Injection molding
- Plugs
- Fittings
- Shoe soles (soft PVC)
- Boots (soft PVC)
Extrusion
- Window and roller blind profiles
- Cable conduits
- Technical profiles
- Pipes
Important applications for thermoplastic granulates are in the production of reclaim and master batch materials.
A distinction is made between the pelletizing of PVC and of other polymers, due to their different characteristics. To produce PVC granulate, twin screw or planetary roller extruders are used in combination with a hot die face. For other thermoplastic materials, single screw extruders are combined with water ring, underwater or strand pelletizing systems.
